Fall Challenge

And here we are….October already. I swear I start every monthly challenge stating how I can’t believe another month has just flown by. But it’s so true. Time just goes by way too quickly. My father in law use to say that it seemed the older you get, the faster time goes by. That once he hit 60 he’d blink his eyes and another year had gone by. I’m really starting to believe him.

I absolutely love Fall. When I think of Fall I think of all the beautiful colors, the changing of the leaves, the beautiful yellows, oranges and reds. Going for walks bundled in a sweater and kicking the leaves in my path. I think of pumpkins and Halloween, all the kids dressing up and excited for treats. But most of all I think of Thanksgiving. It’s my second favourite holiday, almost my first favourite. There’s just something about the day. It feels special. Even though we live away from all our family, I still just love the feeling. Christmas I tend to wish I could be with my family so I always get a little sad. But with Thanksgiving, I am totally okay, and love, it being just the 4 of us.

So with my love for Fall and Thanksgiving, I thought I would incorporate it into this months challenge. Here in Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving in October. I know in the States and a few other countries, it’s November. So I decided to make this a 2 month challenge.

We are going to make another mini album, but nothing complicated. This is a super simple album and I am just giving you the basics. How big you want to make it, how many pages, how you want to decorate it, etc, is totally up to you.

Let’s get started!

Thankful Mini

That’s it! Super simple mini album. This album is to focus more on your journaling. That doesn’t mean you can’t make it look pretty! That is totally up to you. You could gel print the entire sheet of paper before you do all the cutting and scoring if you like. It would definitely make things easier for you. You can use any type of paper in any color you choose. You could use actual tags in the pockets instead of cutting cards. I am just giving you the basic idea.

For my album I plan to take note of things I am grateful for in my life. I may also use some of the cards to write down things I love about this time of year. I am keeping it happy, positive and full of blessings.

So have fun creating your album and really take the time to think about what words and positive notes you want to put inside. When it’s finished it will be a nice album to pull out and read on days you feel you need some joy.

Happy Thanksgiving.
