Font Friday, Cursive
Hi everybody and welcome back to our third Font Friday. This month we will do a more dainty font. Something a little pretty!
We have done blocky lettering and semi blocky, so I thought it was time for something lighter.
So how about Cursive hand lettering?
This really is easy to do. All you need to do is thicken the downstroke. It’s that simple. You can just take your regular hand writing and thicken the line every time you go down.
I have a video on my YouTube channel showing you exactly what I mean. You guys will have the hang of this in no time.
Like always I suggest doing it first in pencil and then going in with your pen or marker.
Here are some samples of when I have used this font.
I may use this font when I want a word to stand out. Sometimes it’s when I don’t necessarily want it to stand out but the words may still have some significance.
There are also times when I will use it as a fill in or to write the entire quote. So you see, it is quite versatile.
Here is the font I will be showing you. I do find it easier when just writing a quote and I’m in the moment. Rather than trying to really think about how I do each individual letter. It can tend to vary every time I do it!
You can find free printable worksheets online. I just googled ‘free lined practice sheets’ and chose one I liked. You can also just use plain or lined paper that you already have at home! You don’t need anything special.
I really do think you will have an easy time with this font.
Go watch the video, then practice and try using it on your next journal page.
Remember to have fun and …
